About Us

Treatment through connection

Here at Ben Crebert Psychology in Maitland, Sydney, we know your story starts with you. We’re here to make sure you’re heard, listened to and understood, during what can sometimes be a daunting and vulnerable process.

We know everyone is different, which is why we don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to our clients. All our appointments are tailored specifically to you and your needs, and we incorporate lots of different processes to make sure the treatment works for you, and you can feel empowered, ready to make a difference in your own life.

When you imagine counselling, you might think of a white, clinical-looking office, with perhaps a couch in the corner. Here at Ben Crebert Psychology, we take a slightly different approach. We incorporate games, creativity and play into our sessions to communicate with kids, adolescents, and adults in a way that works. Building connection to facilitate transformational learning, is really important to us.

Principal Psychologist Ben Crebert

With more than 20 years’ experience in clinical practice, founder and Clinical Psychologist, Ben Crebert, always knew he wanted to help people. Drawing on best practice, integration therapies and neuroscience, Ben’s intention is to provide the best in client care and treatment, helping them commit to themselves and make a true difference in their lives.

Ben believes in fostering safe and effective counselling relationships that focus on helping you return to the centre of your own journey, in a way that works with you, not just for you.

Ben specialises in mental health counselling, trauma-informed therapy and support, challenging behaviours and psychotherapy for children, adolescents, adults, and their families.

Utilising innovative communication strategies and effective collaboration with families and agencies, Ben believes in establishing foundational connections, through powerful and targeted interventions.

Having worked as a school counsellor (K-12), teacher and mental health clinician, Ben Crebert Psychology is a passionate extension of Ben’s experience and commitment to client lifelong learning, and growth. He’s driven by both curiosity and heart in everything he does.

Ben is also a Board-approved supervisor. He provides supervision for Newcastle University Clinical Psychology students and offers clinical supervision to psychology registrars, intern psychologists as well as regular supervision for clinical psychologists, psychologists, and school counsellors.

In his spare time, Ben enjoys spending time with his wife and family at home in the picturesque Hunter Valley, surrounded by the sound of the kookaburras. He also enjoys running, mountain biking with friends, exploring and adventuring through local bushlands, or heading to the coast for a surf.
